Mobile and smart TV app development across every screen

Your users move between phones, tablets and the TV in their living room. We build apps that feel native on each of them while sharing a single, well-tested core, so features ship everywhere at once and behave consistently.

Apps for phones, tablets and the living room

We build consumer and business apps for iOS and Android, and TV applications for connected TV platforms such as Android TV, Apple TV and web-based smart TV environments. TV is a different medium: navigation happens with a remote, text must be readable from across the room and focus management needs to be flawless.

  • Consumer apps with accounts, payments and push notifications
  • Field and workforce apps that keep working without connectivity
  • Media and streaming apps for mobile and connected TV
  • Companion apps that extend an existing web platform

Native, cross-platform or shared core?

There is no single right answer, and we choose per product. Fully native development in Swift and Kotlin gives the deepest platform integration. Cross-platform frameworks such as React Native, which builds on React, reduce duplicated effort when the interface is similar across platforms. Often the best balance is a shared core for business logic, networking and data, with native or platform-specific interfaces on top.

We make that choice explicitly at the start, document the trade-offs, and design the architecture so the decision does not trap you later.

Offline-first and resilient by design

Mobile networks are unreliable, so we treat offline as a normal state rather than an error. Local storage, background synchronization and conflict resolution are designed up front, and the interface always tells users what has and has not been saved.

Crash reporting, performance monitoring and staged rollouts give early warning when something goes wrong, and remote feature flags let us disable a problematic feature without waiting for app store review.

Release pipelines and app store delivery

Builds, signing, automated tests and store submissions run through CI, so releasing is routine rather than a manual, error-prone event. Beta channels such as TestFlight and Google Play testing tracks put new versions in front of real users before a full rollout.

Apps depend on solid APIs. Our backend and API engineering team designs mobile-friendly endpoints with pagination, caching and versioning that keeps older app versions working. When a web version is also needed, our web application development team shares components and logic where it makes sense.

What you receive

You own the source code, signing configuration, store listings and all accounts from day one. At handover we provide the CI/CD setup, test suites, architecture documentation and a release runbook, and walk your team through the full release process. Backend hosting and pipelines are covered by our cloud and DevOps practice.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Should we build native apps or use a cross-platform framework?

It depends on how much platform-specific functionality you need, how similar the experience should be across platforms and the skills of the team that will maintain it. We walk through those trade-offs with you during discovery and document the reasoning, rather than defaulting to one approach.

Can you build an app for smart TVs as well as phones?

Yes. TV apps need a dedicated interface designed for remote control navigation and viewing distance, but they can share business logic, data access and much of the testing with the mobile apps.

Do you handle publishing to the App Store and Google Play?

Yes. We set up the store listings, signing and automated submission pipeline, and guide you through review requirements. Store accounts are created under your organization so you keep full control.

How do you maintain apps after launch?

Mobile platforms change every year, so apps need regular updates for new OS versions, devices and store policies. We can provide ongoing maintenance, or hand over a documented pipeline your own team can run.
